If you have been living with crooked teeth, you have probably wondered about orthodontic treatment. But you may have decided the hassle of metal brackets and wires is just not worth it—particularly if you are an older teen or adult.
There is good news: You may not have to deal with traditional orthodontics in order to get straight teeth. With Invisalign invisible braces, you can improve the appearance—and the health—of your crooked teeth, no metal braces required.
Invisalign uses an innovative system of clear plastic aligners that fit over your teeth to gently move them into proper alignment. The aligners are virtually invisible; even a person seated across from you will be hard pressed to see them.

How Invisalign Invisible Braces Work
Once it is determined that you are a good candidate for Invisalign, we will start a treatment plan by taking an impression of your teeth. The treatment plan and impressions will be sent to the Invisalign lab so your custom aligner trays can be created.
You will receive custom trays that will be replaced about every two weeks with a new set. These will move your teeth into the desired position over a period of several months. Because the aligners are removable, you will be able to visually monitor your progress as your smile becomes straighter.
As long as you wear the aligners for the minimum 22 hours per day, your teeth can be straight in months rather than years.
The Advantages of Invisalign
The primary advantage of Invisalign is that they straighten teeth without the metal wires and brackets. But there are several other reasons our patients love Invisalign:
- You will have no food restrictions with Invisalign because you remove the aligners to eat and drink.
- Brushing and flossing your teeth is easy because the aligners are removable.
- You won’t have any of the potential for irritation you would with traditional orthodontics because the trays are made of a smooth plastic.
- You won’t have to feel self-conscious about wearing braces because the aligners are practically invisible.
Straight Teeth Mean a Healthier Smile
Of course, you would like your teeth to be straight because that means you will have a more attractive smile. But did you know straight teeth actually contribute to a healthier mouth?
If teeth are crowded or overlapped, it is difficult to clean them properly. Your toothbrush cannot reach these spots, and even flossing can be challenging. Bacteria can settle into these areas and wreak havoc on your oral health.
Widely spaced teeth are not immune to problems either. Gaps or spaces between teeth make it easy for food and bacteria to get trapped. Decay and bad breath are just two of the potential problems you can experience.
